It was the first flag-to-flag race for some time as Miller made it back-to-back victories
Round 5 of the season took us to Le Mans for the French Grand Prix. Home hero Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) had just surrendered the Championship lead to Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), but he’d just undergone arm pump surgery to rectify the issue that cost him victory in Jerez.
On Saturday, Quartararo stuck his Yamaha on pole position, as drama awaited on Sunday. The race was declared dry, and it started in dry conditions, but it wasn’t long before rain started to fall heavily. The first flag-to-flag race in years unfolded at Le Mans. Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) crashed out of the lead to hand Quartararo P1 in the wet, but despite two Long Lap Penalties for speeding in pitlane, Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) had blistering pace.
In the end, no one was able to lay a finger on Miller as he claimed his second win on the bounce. Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) came through to finish second, with Quartararo just holding onto P3 ahead of title rival Bagnaia in P4.
