BT Sport review Rossi’s 2001 title campaign

The UK broadcaster delved into some of the major highlights from The Doctor’s maiden premier class title-winning season

Once again BT Sport treated motorcycle racing fans to a Sunday morning of racing nostalgia as they delved into Valentino Rossi’s 2001 title-winning campaign.

The BT Sport team looked at some of the best races from that season, including Suzuka – a Rossi, Max Biaggi talking point – and Phillip Island, which saw Rossi claim his third World Championship. BT Sport also checked in with former 500cc rider Jeremy McWilliams, who won the 250cc race at Assen in 2001 before making the step back up to the premier class in 2002.

This coming Sunday, BT Sport turn their attentions to 2017 – the Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) vs Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) showdown.
