Filip Salac to remain with Snipers Team in 2021

The Czech rider will be staying in the Moto3™ World Championship for a third year next season

Rivacold Snipers Team have made the first official signing ahead of next year’s Moto3™ World Championship with Czech rider Filip Salac signing a one-year extension with the Italian squad. Salac impressed at the Qatar Test, ending the three days as quickest, before then finishing the opening round of the 2020 season in eighth place.

After picking up a career-best finish of fifth at the final round of 2019 in Valencia, Salac will look to cement himself as a lightweight front-runner in the remainder of 2020 before then hoping to mount a title challenge in 2021.

Filip Salac: "This is very important for me. It means a lot that the whole team, and the sponsors, all believe in me. I'm very happy for this opportunity, I want to thank everyone, the team, my family, the sponsors. I will certainly try my best. I'm very focused to finish this short season in the best way and I will work hard for the next season, to fight for the podium and for the Championship. I would also like to thank Mirko because he believes in me a lot and I hope it will be a great year with him. I am very happy to continue with the Snipers Team because I think it is the best team in the Moto3 Championship."

Mirko Cecchini, Rivacold Snipers Team Manager: "I’m really happy that Filip has accepted to be in our team for the 2021 season. I’ve found, in Filip, a very professional rider, always focused on his target despite his young age. His strong determination is essential to build up a future top rider. During the pre-season tests and in the first race we also achieved a very good feeling and I’m sure that we can build on something really important in the remaining part of the 2020 season to then take it into 2021."
