Get ready for MotoGP™ Ignition Champions

Make your collection work for you in this brand-new game

We previously announced that the first MotoGP™ Ignition game mode would launch after the official MotoGP™ Ignition Marketplace, so now it’s time to introduce MotoGP™ Ignition Champions!

MotoGP™ Ignition Champions launches in what we refer to as Pre-Season (consider it the beta), which is scheduled to release on 6 July 2022. In this article we will dive into the rules so you will have a good idea on how to prepare your team for the inaugural event and earn REVV!

How to Play

Champions uses the Card Collectibles so far released for MotoGP™ Ignition. To participate in an event, you can pick a Team of up to 4 Riders and 1 Manufacturer. You can choose any Cards to fill Riders and Manufacturers slots, but there is a greater benefit for you if you fill a Rider slot with a Rider Card.

Once you have selected all of your Cards, they will be locked-in for an event. The event will run for 3 days, with each day running 1 GP. The races are simulated in a sense that your riders performances are based on real-life performance, data, and variables such as track and weather of that GP.

Based on your selected team’s performance in a GP, you will receive a number of Race Points. Race Points are defined by the final standings of the race, and your rider and team composition. After 3 GP’s have been completed, the event concludes, the ranked players by Race Points will be able to earn REVV.

Team Budget

Each Team that players form for MotoGP™ Ignition Champions has a budget and each Card has a cost. The cost of your four riders and one manufacturer has to fit within this Team budget, which is the same for all players. The budget is in place to ensure that balanced selections are required, so players cannot just stack the most consistent Riders and Manufacturers.

NOTE: There may be changes in rider and manufacturer cost when a Pre-Season ends.

Boosting and Multipliers

In Pre-Season, having more than 1 MotoGP™ Ignition Card (including Hot Shots) in your wallet will unlock the ability to ‘Boost’ your selected Riders.

If you own 2 MotoGP™ Ignition NFTs, then you can Boost one Rider to receive double points for all the races in an Event. If you own 3 or more MotoGP™ Ignition NFTs, then you can Boost another Rider to receive triple points for all races in an Event.

Once the 2022 season arrives in MotoGP™ Ignition, a new system called ‘Boosting’ will be launched, which will allow players to use extra NFTs in their collection to compete for a separate REVV prize pool.

This future change is to recognise and reward collections, while making the events themselves driven more by player strategy and choice.

Do assigned NFTs need to match the Riders and Manufacturer in my fantasy team?

Currently no: In Pre-Season, there is no requirement for your Cards to match elements of your team selection.

In the future, to boost a Rider or Manufacturer with a Card, the Card will have to match with that member of your team in the following ways:

– Riders can be boosted by a matching Rider, Bike, Team Cards or Hot Shot

– Manufacturers can be boosted by a matching Team, Bike Cards or Hot Shot

Event Schedule

In Pre-Season, Events run Friday to Sunday with one race being run each day at 12 p.m. UTC.

Can I change my team between races?

No, your team selection (and any Boosts) will be locked just before the Event starts, and remain locked until the Event is over.

Prizes – Pre-Season Rewards

Events in Pre-Season have a 50,000 REVV prize pool that will be split amongst the top 50 players ranked by how many Race Points (RP) they scored. Rewards will be distributed at the end of an event to each participant into their wallet respectfully.

What if there is a tie?

If players are tied based on their total Race Points for an Event, then the tiebreaker will be their highest placed finish of their riders in any of the races of an Event.

KYC – How to complete player verification

To protect against malicious actors and maintain a fair playing environment, we require KYC from all the players who would like to receive their prizes. In order to avoid delay on sending the prizes, you can complete player verification before the event ends. If you have not submitted your information and get verified by our KYC service provider before the rewards are being processed, your rewards will be on hold and carry over to the next payment cycle, until your profile is verified.

This process will be available on the MotoGP™ Ignition website and you can complete it by following the instruction after the “Player Verification” button.
