One month to go: Countdown to Portimao is officially on

Here’s everything coming your way over the next four weeks as we wait for lights out on the 2023 MotoGP™ World Championship

We’re now less than one month away from the opening round of the 2023 MotoGP™ World Championship getting underway at the Algarve rollercoaster in Portugal. It all starts on Sunday March 26th, but don’t forget that the first points of the year will be awarded a day earlier as Portimao hosts the inaugural MotoGP™ Sprint.

Before all focus switches to Round 1, there are still plenty of things coming your way over the next few weeks to get us well and truly ready for the new campaign to fire into life. Firstly, we still have five presentations to enjoy, starting this weekend with the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 launch. It’s a busy week next week as Mooney VR46 Racing kick off their 2023 on Monday March 6th, with LCR Racing presenting Alex Rins as their rider for the first time just a day later.

Then we finish the week with Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales pulling the covers off of the new Aprilia RS-GP. Only one team remains then as RNF Aprilia round-out the team launches when they showcase their new line-up just a week out from Round 1 on March 16th.

It’s time to get down to business when Portimao hosts the final two days of testing before the season gets underway on March 11th and 12th. As always, we’ll be live on motogp.com at the conclusion of each day for the very best analysis and reaction to everything that’s happened in After The Flag.

Then it’s the turn of Moto2™ and Moto3™ the following weekend. The intermediate and lightweight classes will warm up for Round 1 with three days of testing from March 17th to 19th, with motogp.com fully across it as ever. Plus, MotoE™ will start a new era with Ducati when they enjoy their first test of the year from March 6th to 8th at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto.

COMING SOON: MotoGP™ Stories - The Resurrection of Ducati

Plus, get warmed up for the opening round on Friday March 3rd when we release our latest installment of MotoGP™ Stories. The Ressurection Of Ducati details the trials and tribulations the Bologna factory endured in the 15 years between Casey Stoner's 2007 success and Pecco Bagnaia's 2022 World Championship win.
