The Moto3™ title contender has undergone a CT scan that has revealed he has to continue with his recovery from a kidney haematoma
Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team rider Sergio Garcia will not compete at this weekend’s Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna. Garcia underwent a CT scan on Tuesday morning at the IMED Hospital in Valencia, and the scan revealed that he needs to continue with his recovery from the haematoma he has in the kidney, after a crash during FP1 at the Americas GP.

Garcia is currently third – 50 points off Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) – in the Moto3™ World Championship standings, a position he will maintain after the Grand Prix, as he is 30 points ahead of fourth place Romano Fenati (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team). Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team wishes Sergio a speedy recovery and awaits him on track soon.
Sergio Garcia: “I feel physically well, but I have undergone a check-up this morning at the IMED Hospital in Valencia, where I have had a CT scan to see how the kidney injury is, and we have seen that it is still not at one hundred per cent. The hematoma on the kidney has not disappeared and the doctors have recommended that I not travel to Misano, they have told me that I could be fit for Portugal, which is something that motivates me, but I am sad to miss this Grand Prix, since I am in P3 and missing one more race is going to hurt my options. I am motivated and more eager than ever to get on the GASGAS.”
