Vindex813 wins Europe and Africa Rising Stars Series Final

Young Italian and Trast73’s teammate dominates European and African Regional Final booking himself a place in the 2022 Global Series

As well as enjoying a brilliant MotoGP™, which could see Fabio Quartararo crowned this weekend as MotoGP™ World Champion, Yamaha have an abundance of talent in its eSport ranks, as Vindex813 – Trast73’s teammate and Official Monster Energy Yamaha – dominated the European and African Regional Final of the MotoGP™ Rising Stars Series.

Rising Stars Series: Europe and Africa final in full

An initiative first introduced in 2020, the Rising Stars Series is a talent-spotting programme that required young hopefuls from around the world to tackle four Online Challenges in which Gamers are divided into three categories, depending on their location. These three are the Americas, Europe and Africa, and finally Asia and Oceania.

Eleven of the fastest young gamers from Europe and Africa competed in a 10-lap thriller around the stop-and-go Le Mans Circuit in France for the third of the three regional finals, with each gamer representing a current MotoGP™ team.

The race was broadcast live on MotoGP™ eSport YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, on MotoGP™ social channels, esport.motogp.com, motogp.com and selected TV broadcast partners. Motogp.com’s Jack Appleyard and Jack Gorst were on hand to provide commentary for the show.

Vindex813, riding for Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™, started the final as the favourite, courtesy of his performances across the Online Challenges, which decided who qualified for the final. What followed was an exhibition of high-quality close control, as the Italian posted a performance befitting of Yamaha’s current Global Series star Trast73 – his training partner and teammate over the summer months – as he managed his early lead to claim a lights-to-flag victory by 2.5s.

AleGhido32 was an excellent second for Suzuki Ecstar eSports Team, with Petronas Yamaha SRT’s  simone12aloe a distant third, 6s back. Davidegallina23, Yahoo Pramac entry, was a super fourth, ahead of EuPro-GP aka U-mastru21_EuPro from Tech3 KTM Factory Racing and simopiova26 aka Simone Piovanelli from Ducati Lenovo eSports Team.
